Jadon Sancho is back: player ratings from Man United 2-2 Leeds United
Manchester United were held by Leeds United at Old Trafford as the visitorβs pragmatic approach to the game rescued a point, with the Reds dropping two points.
Leeds took the lead with less than one minute played and it didnβt take much longer for them to double that lead in the second half.
It looked like it was going to be one of those nights for Erik ten Hagβs men but a courageous fightback in the last 30 minutes earned United a draw but the hosts were deserving of three points.
Marcus Rashford scored his 12th goal in his last 14 appearances in the 62nd minute and just eight minutes later, Jadon Sancho would mark his return to Premier League football with a golden goal.
Man United Player Ratings
David de Gea β 6
Canβt be blamed for either of the goals and made one good reflex save in the first half.
Diogo Dalot β 5
Back in the side as Aaron Wan-Bissaka missed out due to illness and perhaps he will need a couple of games to get back up to speed. Not at his best β although he did get the all-important assist for Rashfordβs goal.
Raphael Varane β 7
Will unfortunately be credited with the own goal but it was a fine performance from the Frenchman. Carried the ball well and almost won it at the end.
Lisandro Martinez β 7
Started countless attacks with his fast and direct passing. Got United out of trouble on a few occasions too.
Luke Shaw β 7
With his speed and power, you would like him to overlap and get involved in transitions more.
Marcel Sabitzer β 8
More than passes his first test for the club. Very promising.
Fred β 6
The most Fred performance you are likely to see. Brilliant at times, woeful five seconds later.
Bruno Fernandes β 7
Countless shot-creating actions and was probably unlucky not to score a goal.
Alejandro Garnacho β 6
Everything went through the young Argentine in the first half. His influence waned when he was switched to the right.
Marcus Rashford β 8
Largely anonymous in the first half as he was deployed on the right side but the second he switched flanks, the real Rashford entered. Scored the decisive goal to get United back into it.
Wout Weghorst β 6
Another tough game for the Dutchman. Doesnβt bode well that Rashford has scored in back-to-back games just minutes after replacing Weghorst as the sideβs focal point.
Substitutes
Jadon Sancho β 9
A win would have made it the perfect comeback but Sancho will be delighted with that. He looked like Unitedβs only hope of winning the game in the closing moments. He will be huge for the rest of the season.
Facundo Pellistri β 6
Came on with Sancho and naturally, the play was going to be left-side heavy. Had some good moments.

Tyrell Malacia β N/A
