Report: Manchester City Ready To Bid For Real Madrid Defender
Manchester City have had a bit of an issue at left-back since Pep Guardiola joined the club and they are looking at Real Madrid to try and fix it.
Not a lot has went wrong for Pep Guardiola since he took over Manchester City back in 2016 however one reoccurring issue has been at left-back with it becoming a bit of a problem position for the manager.
It led to midfielders Fabian Delph and Oleksandr Zinchenko having to fill in more often than not but with latter leaving in the summer to join Arsenal it has left the reigning Premier League Champions short in that position.
Joao Cancelo was still there for City though that didn’t last long as after a training ground bust-up the Portuguese international got shipped on loan to Bayern Munich.
Due to that Guardiola has preferred a three at the back formation with Nathan Ake operating as the left centre back or practically as a left-back at times.

It would appear that Guardiola does not want to continue with that though as they are reportedly exploring a deal to sign Real Madrid left-back Ferland Mendy.
The European Champions would be willing to accept a deal worth around 60 million euros however City could face competition from Arsenal and Newcastle United.
One of the reasons why Real Madrid are opening to selling the full-back is due to persistent muscle injuries which could be why City shift their focus on other left-back target or possibly even keep Joao Cancelo.
David Alaba and Nacho Fernandez will be preferred over Mendy hence why Real Madrid want to recoup the money they paid to Lyon for him.
