Thomas Tuchel Reveals Stance On Joao Cancelo’s Bayern Munich Future
Bayern Munich manager has had his say on Joao Cancelo’s future ahead of the Champions League tie against Manchester City.
Four months into 2023 and it has not been a good one forΒ Joao Cancelo due to the fact he lost his place at Manchester City after he had a training ground bust-up with Pep GuardiolaΒ after he showed some attitude issues as he was not getting into the side.
That was enough for Guardiola who decided to loan him out on deadline day in January which was a surprise for everyone as he had been an important player.
Since then things haven’t exactly went much better for him at Bayern Munich either after it was anticipated that the Bundesliga would suit him.
He started very well but Julian Nagelsmann decided that he did not trust him enough to be starting however the young German coach since then has been sacked with Thomas Tuchel replacing him.
In his first game for the club he also decided to start him on the bench so Cancelo hasn’t had a great time in Germany.
He is eligible to play against City in the Champions League even though he is on loan from them however there is a big chance that he may not start the game.
It is expected that he will leave permanently in the summer and Tuchel spoke about the possibility of him joining back up with the club next season.
He said:Β “I cannot give you any serious answer to that, we havenβt discussed it with the club, I donβt even know the conditions of the contract. Iβm happy heβs my player, Iβm aware of his extraordinary qualities.”
Plenty of other sides across Europe have also been linked with the full-back.
