Marcus Rashford wary of important but โcomplicated gameโ against Brighton
Manchester United are preparing to take on Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Thursday night.
Hopeful of taking all three points away from the south coast, United, led by Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag, will know that a win this evening will see the side leapfrog Eddie Howeโs flying Newcastle United and move back into third in the table.
Travelling to Brighton and coming away with all the points wonโt be easy though. The Seagulls demonstrated just how solid of a team they are during last monthโs nailbiting FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. Although it was United who came out on top after securing victory on penalties, Roberto De Zerbiโs side cannot be taken for granted, and number 10 Marcus Rashford has reaffirmed that.
Speaking to the clubโs media team about tonightโs important game, Rashford, who is enjoying a fine individual campaign, said: โI think nothing changes for us.
โWe want to get the three points at Brighton but itโs a tough game. Theyโre probably one of the best teams in the league in possession.
โSo yeah, weโre expecting a tough game and Iโm pretty sure it will be, but weโre going to go there and do our best to win.
โItโs a very complicated game. So we just have to make sure weโre well prepared and give it our best shot.โ
United havenโt beaten Thursdayโs opponents in the Premier League in their last two meetings with 2-1 and 4-0 defeats seeing their head-to-head losses date back to February 2022, consequently, the Red Devils will probably come into their next meeting as the underdogs.
Thursday nightโs game, which will take place at the AMEX Stadium, is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. (UK time) and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
