Erik ten Hag does not expect Unitedβs ownership uncertainty to dampen summer transfer plans
Erik ten Hag does not believe Manchester Unitedβs current ownership uncertainty will affect the summer transfer window.
Unsurprisingly, the Glazer family are digging their heels when it comes to choosing a preferred bidder, with numerous options on the table.
Both Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani are adamant about acquiring majority shares of the club, though the Englishman is expected to keep co-chairmen Joel and Avram on board with little-to-no control for a couple of years.
The Americans also have options such as a minority stake bid from financial investors Carlyle and Elliott Management.
The sale process has been ongoing since November last year and three rounds of bidding have taken place, the last proposals were made on Friday, April 28. However, Qatar-based Sheikh Jassim submitted an 11th-hourΒ βtake it or leave itβΒ offer on May 16 to try and swing the matter in his favour.
Ten Hag confident about transfers
Fans have grown frustrated with the delay and have voiced concerns about how it may impact the forthcoming transfer window, in which Ten Hag will need to bolster his squad with several key signings.
Speaking via Football Daily, the Dutch boss addressed the matter, saying: βI came in here last season and we talked about what can we do in the squad, what can we do with transfers? Last year, the club confirmed they can do [it]. So for me, I donβt think anything has changed and in this summer period, we can do the same.β
