Manchester United β€˜preparing’ bid for 23-goal France international

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a bid for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani.

That’s according to an update from Manchester Evening News on Twitter, which suggests that the Red Devils will finally ignite their pursuit of the forward after being linked with him for several weeks.

Muani is contracted with the Bundesliga club until 2027 after joining from Nantes just one year ago, so it’s unknown whether or not Frankfurt will sanction his exit after such a short period.

As well as that, he’s become their star man over the past season. He ended the 2022/2023 campaign with 23 goals and 17 assists to his name in all competitions – outstanding numbers that Erik ten Hag would’ve certainly taken note of.

Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also monitoring the France international.

United desperate for a proven goalscorer

The 24-year-old’s prolific finishing would not go amiss at Old Trafford, as finding the back of the net has proven troublesome for the Reds as of late.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s January exit left the manager relying on Anthony Martial, who spent more time injured than he was available, and Wout Weghorst, who failed to register a Premier League goal in six months at the club.

An out-and-out No.9 is at the top of Ten Hag’s shortlist this summer, and Muani would undoubtedly be a suitable fit.
