West Ham insider claims Harry Maguire has agreed personal terms

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has reportedly agreed personal terms with West Ham, according to West Ham insider Sean Whetstone.

The claims have been backed up by West Ham fansite Hammers.news, who claim the reporter in question counts West Ham vice-chair Karren Brady and majority owner David Sullivan among his sources inside the club.

Whetstone’s scoop suggests West Ham have jumped a big hurdle in negotiations to sign Maguire after the two parties agreed on personal terms ahead of a medical. It comes after Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol cast some doubt over whether Maguire would be able to agree such terms with the London club.

Personal terms now not expected to be a problem for Harry Maguire’s potential move to West Ham.

Still work to do on the details of his exit at Manchester United, but the Hammers now cautiously optimistic of completing the signing.

That is a hint that Maguire is willing to take a pay cut in order to join the Hammers in a bid to salvage his England career.

Ultimately, I think it will be a good move for all parties if West Ham get a deal across the line.

β€œShould be a big 24 hours tomorrow for West Ham,” Whetstone tweeted on Wednesday night, after news of a agreement between the two clubs worth approximately Β£30 million, as per Sky Sports.

β€œEdson Alvarez due to be announced. James Ward-Prowse and Harry Maguire to have medicals after agreeing personal terms.

β€œThere is a chance all three players could be registered before Saturday.”

Whetstone suggests that Alvarez, Ward-Prowse and Maguire could all be in West Ham’s squad for their Premier League opener against Bournemouth.

So, if you believe what Whetstone says, Maguire will become a West Ham player in the next 24-48 hours.

Maguire would be a solid addition for West Ham

West Ham are in need of reinforcements and some leadership. On top of that, David Moyes has made it clear to the board that he wants to sign Maguire.

After delivering the Europa Conference League last term, it’s the least he deserves.

Maguire was jeered at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Sunday, but there were shouts of encouragement as the game went on. That may have been his final game in a United shirt.

They should listen to him if he wants Scott McTominay, too. A bid of Β£45 million would settle that.
