De Zerbi: Evan Ferguson will undergo late fitness test, Ansu Fati could feature vs. United

Brighton and Hove Albion starlet Evan Ferguson will be put through a late fitness test to determine his involvement in the side’s trip to Old Trafford.Β

The forward netted his first-ever Premier League hat-trick prior to the international break against last season’s highflyers Newcastle United. He was then, however, ruled out of the Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2024 qualifiers through injury.

Now, Roberto De Zerbi is left sweating on Ferguson’s recovery as he oversees his squad’s final preparations to face Manchester United away from their home comforts.

A decision will reportedly be made in the coming hours or the morning of the game, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.

Ansu Fati could make Brighton debut

Ansu Fati joined the Seagulls in the summer in an unexpected loan move from Barcelona, where he was awarded Lionel Messi’s iconic No.10 jersey when the legend departed.

Injuries have plagued the 20-year-old’s career in recent years, but he remains a hot prospect in European football and opted for a move to the Amex as he wanted to aid his development under De Zerbi.

Regarding the young Spaniard’s potential debut, the manager said that it could come in the second half but insisted he did not want to heap pressure onto Fati’s shoulders.

RDZ says Ansu Fati could feature tomorrow, maybe in the second half. “I want to enjoy watching his ability and I don’t want to put any pressure on Ansu.” #bhafc
