26 y/o Manchester United man offers himself to Barcelona; Ten Hag has opened door for him to leave
Donny van de Beek is seemingly so desperate for a Manchester United exit that heβs offering himself out to clubs.
Bar the occasional transfer rumour cropping up around the windows, youβd be forgiven for forgetting that Van de Beek is still a registered member of Unitedβs squad.
This season, after reports suggested he rebuffed interest from clubs across the summer, the Dutchman has featured for a mere 21 minutes in total across two cameos; one in the Premier League and one in the Carabao Cup. Most weeks, Van de Beek is omitted from the matchday squad entirely, though there are times heβs lucky enough to watch on from the sidelines after making the bench.
He recently expressed his desire to leave in hopes of securing more game time elsewhere, stating that while he earns a βgood livingβ at Old Trafford, he is not a money-motivated player. Ten Hag then admitted at his pre-Newcastle United press conference that he agreed with the sentiment, opening the door for Van de Beek to depart in January.
Van de Beek offers his services to Barcelona
As such, the midfielder has begun eyeing where he could play a more significant role and according to Sport, has offered himself to Barcelona. The La Liga giants are often strapped for cash mid-season and looking to acquire cut-price deals or even loans where possible, but it remains to be seen if Xavi would take a punt on Van de Beek, who has such little credit in the bank after a lacklustre three years in M16.
Juventus have also notched their interest, the report states, and it is believed that the Italians are one of the main clubs pursuing a January move for exiled winger Jadon Sancho.
