United dealt substantial injury concern as 7 G/A whiz withdraws from international duty with ‘physical issues’
As if things couldn’t really feel more bleak around Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag will now be sweating on the condition of one of his most reliable attackers.
According to reputable Argentine journalist Gaston Edul, Alejandro Garnacho will withdraw from international duty this week due to ‘physical issues’, with Fabrizio Romano adding that the player will return to Manchester to undergo assessments with club staff.
In truth, it wouldn’t really come as much of a surprise if the youngster has sustained an injury. He has played an integral role for United since his breakthrough campaign in 2022/2023, and he now finds himself ranking above £86 million counterpart, Antony, in the pecking order under Ten Hag.
Already this season, Garnacho has notched an impressive four goals and three assists in only 11 appearances across all competition, despite having to occasionally settle for a substitute role, as he vyes for a place on the teamsheet with Amad Diallo.
The fixtures Garnacho is set to miss
World champions Argentina are scheduled to face Venezuela on Thursday before hosting Bolivia next Wednesday in World Cup qualifiers, which would’ve provided Garnacho the chance to add to his seven national team caps.
