Alan Pardew advises David de Gea’s agent to approach Premier League club

Alan Pardew thinks that David de Gea should be banging down Eddie Howe’s door to get a move to Newcastle United.

The former Newcastle manager believes the goalkeeper, who left Manchester United in the summer at the end of his contract, would be a perfect signing for the Magpies after losing Nick Pope to a long-term injury.

De Gea would be a good signing for Newcastle, though it’s possible that Howe will put his trust in second choice keeper Martin Dubravka.

Pardew looks at De Gea as one of the best available keepers on the market.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Pardew said: β€œDe Gea is available. If you’re the Newcastle manager and you’ve got this funding that you’ve got, you’re going to go for the best. I think he’s the best that’s out there.

β€œIf I was his agent I’d be ringing them straight away because it seems like a perfect fit to me. It would only be about how long the contract would be, would it just be to the end of the season?

β€œJust give him a window to show himself, De Gea, or maybe longer to have direct competition. All of that to be discussed. But I think that is a definite possibility.”

I don’t like Newcastle but I think it would be a good move for De Gea to get him back playing at the highest level. There’s probably been an array of offers from Saudi Arabia at his doorstep, but he seems unsure of what to do with his playing career.
