Casemiro makes decision on his Manchester United future

Casemiro has been struggling with his form and fitness at Manchester United this season.

Brazil interim manager Fernando Diniz, who also manages Fluminense simultaneously, spoke with sadness about Casemiro’s recent injury.

The recent injury blow keeps the defensive midfielder out of action for the remainder of the year, and despite his form, it wasn’t the news Erik ten Hag needed for his injury-hit squad.

As a result of below average form and more injuries, there has been speculation over Casemiro’s future at Old Trafford.

The latest is Casemiro doesn’t want to leave Old Trafford in January but may be targeted by clubs in Saudi Arabia at the end of the season, which to be fair, shouldn’t shock anyone. 90Min suggest there’s a lot of interest in Saudi Arabia but they won’t be making any premature moves in January, and I don’t see any reasons why Casemiro would ditch Old Trafford midway through the season.

According to GiveMeSport, Casemiro is more likely to leave when the season draws to a close.

As far as we’re concerned, as United fans, it’s important that when Casemiro returns from injury he can get back to his best for the second half of the season. Any team would miss a player like him, especially at his best as we seen last term.

Meanwhile, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano shared an update of his own in a regular CaughtOffside column.

“Currently I’m told it’s still quiet with regards to Saudi Pro League clubs and Casemiro,” Romano wrote. “No concrete proposals or negotiations are taking place. We’ll have to see what happens in the summer, but it depends on a lot of factors including Saudi plans, Man United decisions and more.

“I think he’s still a very important player, but has just been unlucky with his injuries.”

Casemiro isn’t the only key player absent for United. Ten Hag is also without Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw in defence. Hopefully when they return the results pick up.
