Charlotte FC president downplays Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speculation
A bogus report emerged this week after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer visited Charlotte FC.
A website under the name topbin90.com suggested they had been told by a source that Solskjaer had inquired about a coaching role with Charlotte, among other teams in the MLS.
Solskjaer revealed recently in an interview with The Athletic that he was planning to visit former team-mate Wayne Rooney in the US. We just hope he managed to do so before Unitedβs all-time record goalscorer left his role at DC United.
However, Charlotte FC president, Joe LaBue, has been quick to downplay speculation over Solskjaer becoming their manager.
LaBue stressed that Solskjaer visited a number of MLS clubs last week to check out their facilities.
βTo be very clear, Ole visited our facility along with many other MLS facilities last week,β LeBue wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
βItβs common and best practice to host people from across the globe and weβll continue to do so. Weβre proud of what weβve built. End go story here.β

With Charlotte FC one point off the final play-off spot, with a game in hand over New York Red Bulls and Chicago Fire, it makes sense for the clubβs president to downplay rumours when they probably should be backing current manager Christian Lattanzio.
Solskjaer doesnβt need to rush into work and heβs smart enough to wait for the right job. He wonβt fall into another mess like Cardiff City again.
