Erik ten Hag speaks out after 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford

Manchester United are continuing to yo-yo in the Premier League this season after they suffered their seventh league defeat this season on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag’s men were humbled by a resilient Bournemouth side at Old Trafford, with the Cherries inflicting an 11th defeat in all competitions on the Reds.

The visitors were wildly superior to United on the day and exposed some of the weaknesses in the side, in case anyone had forgotten after the convincing performance against Chelsea earlier this week.

Ten Hag is under increasing pressure to turn things around as the season is now at risk of spiralling completely out of control.

“As a coach you question that after what happened.”

β€œAs a coach, you question that after what happened,” Ten Hag told Sky Sports after the game. β€œWe started very poor and then you’re following facts.

β€œThere was, I think, a big difference to Chelsea where we started very good the game. Very aggressive and very focused. Today we were not and we got one shot. Penalty, no penalty and straight afterward we concede a goal.”

To make matters worse, United now face a huge couple of games as they first must beat Bayern Munich at Old Trafford and hope other results go their way in the Champions League.

After that, they face a daunting trip to Anfield and United will be without their captain Bruno Fernandes after he was booked late on for dissent.
