Everton vs Man United confirmed lineups: Varane benched but Casemiro starts

Manchester United have travelled to Liverpool to take on Frank Lampard’s Everton in Matchday 10’sΒ penultimate fixture.

Coming into the game, manager Erik ten Hag will be eager to return to domestic winning ways after last weekend’s Manchester Derby saw the red half of the city thrashed 6-3 by Pep Guardiola’s Sky Blues.

In action in the Europa League just three days ago, United came close to being left red-faced again after suffering a 3-2 scare against Cypriot side Omonia.

However, now back in the more familiar Premier League, the 20-time league winners will know they will need to put in a much better performance if they’re to get the better of Lampard’s resilient Toffees.

As it stands, United sit seventh in the league table with Everton down in 11th, but with the Toffees boasting the best defence in the country, the Red Devils will do well to expect a tough evening.

Ahead of the match, which is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m (UK time), both teams have named their starting 11s.

From a Man United perspective, the most notable absence is Raphael Varane, who, following an injury last weekend, will start on the bench. However, there is good news for Casemiro, who is set to make his first Premier League start since joining from Real Madrid int he summer.
