Former Manchester United defender impressed by Hojlund’s start to life at Old Trafford

Former Manchester United centre-back Mikael Silvestre has been impressed with Rasmus Hojlund’s start to life at Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old scored his second and third goals for the club on Tuesday night against Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Hojlund was the only silver lining on a bad night for the Reds and I, for one, couldn’t help but feel sorry for the Danish starlet.

At such a young age he’s got the weight of the football world on his shoulders and everyone knows he needs time to develop before becoming an elite centre-forward.

Former United defender Mikael Silvestre has been impressed by Hojlund’s to date. The Frenchman is happy with what the former Atalanta man has shown when it comes to energy, link-up play and providing a presence.

Speaking to bettingexpert.com, as relayed by the Manchester Evening News, Silvestre said: β€œI’ve liked what I’ve seen from Hojlund so far. [He is] full of energy, pressing, good in transition, and he has a presence. He’s trying to find his partners, link up play, to understand the movement of everybody around him and ask to be available to his teammates. [It has been a] good start for him.”

Hopefully, over the coming weeks we will see Hojlund’s teammates find him in better positions.

Marcus Rashford put it on a plate for him against Galatasaray in the first half before United’s defence began to fall apart. Hojlund made his second goal himself with a powerful run from the halfway line, but I just want to see him fed with more service from those around him.

That’s when the goals will start to flood in.
