Gabby Agbonlahor advises Sir Jim Ratcliffe to sack βdelusionalβ Erik ten Hag
Former Premier League striker turned ABU (anyone but United) mouthpiece on talkSPORT, Gabby Agbonlahor, has called for Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag to be sacked.
Itβs dangerous territory when former professionals come out calling for people within the game. That is why you rarely hear the best pundits do because they are capable of analysing the game better.
Agbonlahor was having another pop at United fans last week ahead of the 2-1 defeat to Fulham, when he accused of βliving in the pastβ and being the worst set of fans when it comes to abuse.
United went into Saturdayβs game unbeaten in 2024. Yes, the performance was abysmal, but calling from the rooftops on radio about Ten Hag needing to be sacked after losing to Fulham seems a stretch too far.
The result dealt a major blow to Unitedβs hopes of finishing in the top four with Aston Villa beating Nottingham Forest 4-2 over the weekend. Unai Emeryβs side now sit eight points clear of the Reds in fourth spot.
Speaking to Jamie OβHara on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said: βToday was justice.
βUnited have been getting away with bad performances and still somehow winning games, but today they got exactly what they deserved.
βManchester United today were a disgrace to that football club.β
How delusional would Ten Hag look if he had his best players available this season? Of course, Agbonlahor will overlook that for his preferred agenda and desire to see a man sacked.
There is no denying that Ten Hag is under immense pressure to get United into the top four.
With Sir Jim Ratcliffeβs investment and changes to the club structure, there is also a possibility that they will look at replacing the manager.
United are back in action on Wednesday night when they take on Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup fifth round.
