Harry Maguireβs move to West Ham collapses as Irons seek alternatives
Harry Maguireβs move from Manchester United to West Ham United has reportedly collapsed, according to The Guardian.
The centre-back was in line to complete a Β£30 million switch after the Red Devils accepted West Hamβs bid last week, while also rejecting an offer of the same amount for Scott McTominay.
However, the Irons have become increasingly frustrated over the past few days since their proposal was accepted, as there has been no agreement reached on personal terms with Maguire. David Moyes and the board have now started scouring the market for alternative options in central defence.
Maguire awaiting United pay-off
Maguire, 30, is seemingly waiting around for a considerable pay-off from his current club, where he was recently stripped of the captaincy. After United qualified for the Champions League with a third-placed finish last term, he was granted a salary increase and he would now have to accept a significant reduction if he transfers to the London Stadium.
Guardianβs report states that the England international wants a fee of around Β£7m to depart Manchester this summer.Β A deal may be βrevivedβ but for now, itβs not looking promising.
