Late update from Italy suggests Manchester United have agreement in place for Ten Hag replacement

A late report coming out of Italy tonight suggests Simone Inzaghi has agreed to become the next Manchester United manager.

Despite watching his side get back to winning ways in the Premier League at the weekend, Erik ten Hag is having to deal with more reports about United seeking the services of other managers.

Thomas Tuchel has been appointed England manager, which has put an end to speculation linking the German with being Ten Hag’s successor.

But it’s all very weird to be talking this way when Ten Hag is still in a job and talking like a man who still sees it being a long-term gig. After winning two trophies in as many years, the Dutchman craves more success at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag survived the October international break when multiple media outlets suggested INEOS would sack the manager.

According to InterLive.it, Inzaghi has already given his green light to coach United next season. The minor details are said to be taking shape.

The article states that Inzaghi’s move to Old Trafford isn’t imminent and it is not expected to be announced until the end of the season.

It adds that Inzaghi has been offered β€œan almost unlimited budget” which doesn’t sound right when the club is cutting costs. That said, they will still need to reinforce the squad next summer.

Reports in Italy seem to believe it will be Inzaghi’s job to lead United in the future following a couple of video interviews with club officials, but the source isn’t the most credible.

Inzaghi is currently in charge of Italian outfit Pisa. It feels like an underwhelming one if there’s any truth in it.
