Man Utd given clear deadline to buy ‘phenomenal’ star who is open to joining
If Manchester United plan to sign Fiorentina striker Moise Kean, they must act swiftly and decisively before his release clause expires.
The Premier League giants find themselves in a somewhat messy situation, as their attempts to sign a new centre-forward have yet to bear fruit.
The management tried to poach Liam Delap who preferred to join Chelsea, while Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko, Victor Osimhen and Hugo Ekitike are seemingly too pricey for their tight budget, especially since they plan to fork out a large sum on Bryan Mbeumo, and have already spent £62.5 million on Matheus Cunha.
Over the past 24 hours, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins emerged as the latest candidate on the shortlist, but he might not be the most inspiring option.
Man Utd have two weeks to trigger Moise Kean’s clause
As exclusively revealed by Stretty News last week, Kean is open to joining the Red Devils.
The 25-year-old is coming off the best campaign of his young career, netting 25 goals and providing three assists in all competitions. Italian legend Christian Vieri has recently hailed him as a ‘phenomenal striker’ in an interview with The Italian Football Podcast (via CaughtOffside).

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Italian striker’s contract with Fiorentina contains a £44 million release clause that can currently be activated. However, this clause will expire on July 15, so Man United, or any other suitor for that matter, only have two weeks to trigger it.
Stats in 24/25 | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Moise Kean | 44 | 25 | 3 |
Ollie Watkins | 54 | 17 | 14 |
Liam Delap | 40 | 12 | 2 |
Rasmus Hojlund | 52 | 10 | 4 |
Joshua Zirkzee | 49 | 7 | 3 |
Beyond that date, it remains unclear if Fiorentina would be willing to sanction his exit. Perhaps the Tuscans will request considerably higher figures.
United facing competition from Saudi Pro League for Moise Kean
Therefore, Man United must accelerate their attempts to land the former Everton and Juventus bomber if they truly consider him a serious target.
MUFC are also facing competition from Al-Qadisiyah who are offering Kean a lucrative three-year deal that includes a yearly salary of £15 million.
