Manchester United could make two goalkeeper additions this summer
There could be a real shake-up in Manchester Unitedβs goalkeeper department this summer.
Manchester United are open to signing two goalkeepers if they do not re-sign David de Gea, according to the Manchester Evening News.
It turns out that De Gea could re-register as a Manchester United player, despite seeing his contract expire at midnight last Friday.
Any move for Cameroon international Andre Onana is understood to be dependent on De Geaβs situation as United want to hold face-to-face discussions after his holiday.
It sounds like if Onana joins and De Gea would be happy to be second choice on reduced wages, that could still be a possibility for the Spaniard even though it would be best for all parties to move on.
United are currently in talks with Inter Milan over Onana and I think we will know a lot more about the possibility of that transfer next week.
To have a new no.1 like Onana would be a huge upgrade for the way Erik ten Hag wants to play. It would make even more sense to sign a back-up keeper of the same profile.
