Manchester United could offload Amad Diallo in Rasmus Hojlund deal โ hereโs why they shouldnโt (opinion)
Manchester United could reportedly offload Amad Diallo to Atalanta in their pursuit of Rasmus Hojlund, as per Sky Sports News and TuttoMercatoWeb.
United supporters are eager to see Amad in action next season, what use would it be if itโs for a third loan spell?
Erik ten Hag seems set on bringing Hojlund to the club on a permanent deal, which could work out well; heโs a young, raw forward who is keen to further his development and polish off his goalscoring abilities in a starting role.
That bodes well for the Red Devils, whose No.9s as of late have all been more senior players โ Hojlund, 20, can realistically be your starting striker for the next decade.
By all means, bring in the Danish international, but if youโre building a team of youthful players that are desperate to earn their place, it wonโt do any harm to keep Amad around.
Amadโs time to shine
While his first loan spell with Rangers fell under the radar, his last one certainly didnโt. He finished the 2022/2023 campaign as Sunderlandโs top โscorer with 13 goals to his name, playing a pivotal role in the Black Catsโ play-off qualification. He then found the back of the net in the first leg of the semi-finals to round off a scintillating term on Wearside.
Even aside from his goal contributions, the Ivorian looks comfortable and confident on the ball. He wants to take on his opponents and weave past them with his quick feet โ like youโd expect your winger to do.
Passages of play like the one shown below are exactly whatโs needed at Old Trafford; receives the ball, takes on his man, and finds the back of the net.

Currently, Unitedโs options on the right flank are Jadon Sancho and Antony, both of which could benefit from a bit of competition to keep them on their toes when it comes to their place in the starting 11.
