Manchester United hold off on Mason Greenwood decision until September

Manchester United have again delayed a decision over the future of Mason Greenwood.

According to The Athletic, it is now possible there will be no resolution until the September international break.

Greenwood, 21, remains subject of an internal investigation from United since February when the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) dropped charges made against him for attempted rape, assault and coercive control.

This story has dragged on for over 18-months since Greenwood was initially arrested, and now we are unlikely to get an announcement from the club until September.

The report states the decision on Greenwood will be signed off by chief executive Richard Arnold. It will be up to him to collect the facts before making a big judgement.

Furthermore, it is stressed that Erik ten Hag is open to having Greenwood back in the United squad.

A return for Greenwood would result in major backlash from a large section of match-going fans. A group of female fans will form a protest against his potential return before tonight’s game against Wolves.

More when we have it.
