Manchester United hopeful of trio returning after international break as club look to build on Bees win
Manchester United are hoping to have three injures players back at Erik ten Hagβs disposal following the international break, as per Manchester Evening News.
Ten Hag has been forced to navigate an ever-growing list of unavailable players this season, while the medical staff at Carrington have been called upon to nurse a host of injuries week in, week out.
Currently, there is no timeframe for the likes of Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to return to the fold. Lisandro Martinez could make a comeback in January if all goes well in his metatarsal recovery, after the fracture that ended his 2022/2023 campaign prematurely was re-aggravated in the opening games of the term.
Trio eyeing Blades clash
Raphael Varane missed yesterdayβs game through a minor issue and given that heβs retired from international duty, he will be able to get some much-needed rest over the next fortnight and is likely to be back to full match fitness by Unitedβs next outing.
Sergio Reguilon has missed four consecutive fixtures with an unknown problem but is set to make the matchday squad when the Reds take on Sheffield United on October 21.
Youngster Kobbie Mainoo, whose return is being highly anticipated by supporters, could also make the trip to Bramall Lane and make his first appearance of the season. He has been training with the U18s in recent weeks but Ten Hag was reluctant to rush him back too soon and risk the teenager sustaining another injury.
