Manchester United winger throws dig at rivals ahead of Manchester derby

Preparations are underway for the first Manchester derby of the season. Facundo Pellistri will be hoping to play a part and he hasn’t shied away from pointing out a few home truths ahead of the match.

Pellistri is getting more game time this season, which will keep him happy for another while, but he hasn’t featured for United since the 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

However, the winger appears to be looking forward to the biggest fixture this weekend has to offer.

Speaking to Uruguayan radio station, Carve Deportiva, Pellistri spoke about the divide in Manchester.

β€œManchester is all about United,” Pellistri said. β€œYou don’t see City shirts or flags.

β€œSometimes, with my girlfriend, we go out and say let’s try to find one and we don’t see them.”

This won’t come as much of a surprise because United have always been a bigger club than City. That won’t change because they’ve suddenly become a tool for sportswashing.

Training hard for the derby

Pellistri also spoke about United’s preparation ahead of the match. He added: β€œYesterday was a very hard day of training. We did it for 2 and a half hours on the court. So today, when we have free, everything hurts. You don’t really want to do something.

β€œToday we had free. We start preparing the classic that is on Sunday. It’s going to be special to play it at Old Trafford.”

Fans will hope the hard work in training pays off with a win over City. It won’t be easy.
