Manchester United XI vs Newcastle: Mainoo gets the nod in midfield

Manchester United take on Newcastle United tonight and Erik ten Hag has named his starting line-up at St James’ Park.

As a result, United’s hopes of progressing from the group stages have diminished, but there’s no time to dwell on that because we need to get a result against Newcastle.

Speaking about Newcastle ahead of the game, Ten Hag said: “I really respect them, it’s a difficult team to play but it’s a good challenge and I like to play against, we have to rise to the occasion, be on our best against them because the way they play is very organised.”

Without further ado, let’s take a look at United’s line-up which includes four changes from the side that drew in Istanbul.
