Marcel Sabitzer will be suspended for Manchester Unitedβs Europa League clash with Barcelona
Manchester United will be without Marcel Sabitzer for the first leg of their Europa League play-off clash with Barcelona.Β
The Red Devils travel to Spain this weekend to take on the La Liga giants in a Round of 16 play-off tie. This is due to United finishing second in their group, which consequently added to their already packed fixture schedule.
It has now been confirmed by UEFA that the clubβs January loan signing Marcel Sabitzer will be unable to feature in this weekβs meeting. The midfielder picked up three yellow cards whilst representing his parent club Bayern Munich in the Champions League this season, with his last booking coming in the Germansβ final group-stage game.

The suspension now carries over to the Europa League and consequently forces Sabitzer to sit Thursdayβs match out. Another notable omission through suspension is Lisandro Martinez.
A bonus, though, is that Casemiro will be available for selection after serving his three-game ban for the red card against Crystal Palace.
