Mercedes chief Toto Wolff tells Manchester United what to expect from Sir Jim Ratcliffe
Mercedes chief Toto Wolff has been asked about what Manchester United should expect if Sir Jim Ratcliffe purchases a share in the club.
The F1 team boss offered a rare insight into what Sir Jim Ratcliffe can bring to the table at Manchester United if his bid is accepted by the Glazer family.
Reports suggest the Ineos founder is hoping to add to his sporting portfolio by purchasing 25% of United, who he claims is his boyhood club. Sadly for fans, this means the Glazers will remain, but is this the beginning of the end for them?
Ratcliffe, 71, aims to oversee the footballing side of the operation upon his arrival and is expected to bring in staff members of his own.
Meanwhile, Wolff has no doubts that Ratcliffe is the right man to bring change to United. He works with the British billionaire at Mercedes, where Ratcliffe as a one-third share like the Austrian.
Wolff said: βJim and his partners, Andy and John, they are first of all very complementary and this is a no bulls*** organisation.
βThey are huge in terms of revenue and profit and decisions being made very quickly, three bullet points on a page and here we go. With Jim, all the bull***t is cut out and I think that wherever he gets his power and resources and behind it I think thatβs going to be an add-on for any team.β

Wolff added: βHeβs a Manchester boy. He has the resources that are needed, the heart in the right place for this team and Iβm sure that he can be very creative for Manchester United.
βWith us, heβs been a fantastic shareholder and a good sounding board for myself.β
Only time will tell if Ratcliffe is successful in his quest to buy a stake in United. Then, hopefully, he listens to the concerns fans have and helps the club move forward. I just hope thereβs a light at the end of the tunnel and that means getting rid of the Glazer family.
