Piers Morgan backs Ronaldo after Old Trafford tantrum

Of course, Piers Morgan has backed Cristiano Ronaldo for storming down the tunnel before full-time during Manchester United’s 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Wedneday night. Didn’t he walk off Good Morning Britain last year?

The former editor of The Sun is looked for a new friend and he is desperate to have Ronaldo on WhatsApp. It may yet happen because Morgan is one of a few people defending the 37-year-old’s actions last night.

I mean, it wasn’t long ago Morgan was friends with Donald Trump. A relationship that has since gone sour.

β€œIf you get disrespected in the workplace, why put up with it?,” he replied to an image of himself and Ronaldo storming out.

Morgan also tweeted earlier on Thursday morning that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag’s treatment of Ronaldo has been pathetic and disrespectful.

β€œThe way Ten Hag seems to delight in humiliating @Cristiano is pathetic. Sticking the world’s greatest ever footballer on the bench, making him repeatedly warm up, then not even use him as a sub, is just staggeringly disrespectful to United’s top scorer last season.”

Ronaldo was an unused substitute at Old Trafford, as when the clock reached 89 minutes, he decided to storm off towards the Stretford End tunnel. It is understood that he left the dressing room before his team-mates returned following their 2-0 win.

Why try excuse this behaviour on the football pitch? It’s just wrong.

How is it okay for a 37-year-old to kick off a tantrum in his workplace?
