Premier League club slaps record-breaking price tag on striker amid reported Manchester United interest

Brighton and Hove Albion would reportedly demand a record transfer fee if they were to part ways with Evan Ferguson any time soon.

The young starlet is on course to become one of the most in-demand forwards in Europe if he carries on impressing, and it is believed that he’s already on the radar of Manchester United – according to Football Insider –  as they look to bolster their frontline by taking some of the pressure off of Rasmus Hojlund.

Ferguson, a self-proclaimed United fan growing up, recently penned an extension on his existing contract with the Seagulls until 2029, with the club keen to fend off interest from other Premier League sides.

However, whether or not they’ll be able to turn away lucrative offers later down the line remains to be seen. Brighton have already had to sanction the exits of such pivotal stars in recent years; Marc Cucurella, Yves Bissouma, Alexis Mac Allister and, more recently, Moises Caicedo, who recuperated a British-record transfer fee of £115 million when he signed for Chelsea in August.

TeamTalk states that the East Sussex outfit would expect an even higher amount to even consider selling the 19-year-old Irish prospect, who has registered 11 league goals since making the move from Bohemians in 2021.
