Preview: FC Sheriff vs Manchester United Europa League
Manchester United will be looking at getting back to winning ways when they face FC Sheriff at the Zimbru Stadium in the Europa League Group stages on Thursday night.
The Reds go into the game on the back of a bitterly disappointing 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad at Old Trafford, whilst the hosts ran out 2-0 winners against Milsami.
Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to lead the Reds attack and Casemiro is also likely to be handed another start.
Having suffered a shock 1-0 loss in the opening game against Real Sociedad, it is pivotal United take three points on Thursday night. FC Sheriff may seem like an easy fixture on paper, but the home side will no doubt look to make life difficult for United and in order for us to get the win we must not take our opponents lightly.
The Europa League may not be top of everybodyβs wish list this season but it still represents silverware and also guarantees us a place in next seasons European Cup and having already dropped points in the opening game we can ill afford to do so again should we wish to qualify.
An early goal from United in many respects could prove to be crucial in games like these. It would force the hosts out from the back leaving plenty of space for Ronaldo, Fernandes and co who can take full advantage of and if do manage to grab an early goal then you wouldnβt rule out United winning comfortably here.
Itβs a game we simply have to win and one which I do think we will do albeit it wonβt be a walk in the park.
Prediction: FC Sheriff 0-4 Manchester United
