Rangers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie on Manchester Unitedβs radar
Manchester United are preparing to move for Rangers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie, according to reports in Scotland.
Erik ten Hag may be forced into the transfer market to sign a new goalkeeper after Tom Heaton sustained an injury ahead of the 2023/24 season. Now, the only other back-up option available to the manager is Dean Henderson, who has been struggling with a thigh injury.
It is also understood that Henderson wishes to leave the club, but a move to Nottingham Forest is in doubt after they signed Matt Turner.
Furthermore, Matej Kovar is closing in on a switch to Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen and Nathan Bishop has joined Sunderland in the Championship.
United already tried to sign Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, who has opted to move elsewhere in search of regular game time β knowing he wonβt achieve that at United where Andre Onana is No. 1.
In turn, United have switched their attention to Rangers keeper Robby McCrorie, as per The Herald. The report suggests that McCrorie has informed Rangers boss Michael Beale of his desire to leave following the arrival of Jack Butland, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Old Trafford.
Rangers allegedly want Β£1 million for his signature which is certainly affordable for a club like United. On top of that, McCrorie isnβt going to demand a huge salary which helps United in terms of Financial Fair Play.
