Report: Manchester City Target Set to Leave Eintracht Frankfurt as Free Agent

Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka is being tracked by a number of clubs ahead of his departure this summer, with Manchester City keeping an eye on developments.

Evan Ndicka has become a number-one target for many teams across Europe as he announced he wouldn’t renew his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt.Β

The 23-year-old will be a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the 2022/23 season.Β

Graeme Bailey of 90Min reported that Manchester City and Liverpool had asked Ndicka’s representatives to update them on his plans.Β

Ekrem Konur has reported that many European clubs are targeting Ndicka with that list, including Inter Milan, Paris Saint Germain, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur.Β

Bailey also states that the French Under 21 international was keen on a move to the Blaugrana. Still, they could also look elsewhere, with Inigo MartinezΒ available on a free transfer from Athletic Bilbao.Β

It could be a case of all of these teams missing out, as reports also say that the talented defender is on the verge of agreeing on terms with Jose Mourinho at AS Roma.Β

With the possible departure of Aymeric Laporte,Β City has identified Ndicka as an ideal replacement which all hinges on their pursuit of Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig.Β

Numerous possibilities are coming out from reports across Europe from well-established sources, which will only get more apparent as we move towards the end of the season, but ultimately, the final choice will lie with Ndicka.Β

Whether Ndicka ends up in the Premier League this time might not matter, it could be a transfer that happens in the future with age being on the left-sided defender’s side.Β
