Riyad Mahrez Breaks Premier League Record In Outstanding Victory Against Liverpool

Manchester City dismantled Liverpool 4-1 in their Saturday lunchtime encounter and Riyad Mahrez broke a Premier League record in the win.

A convincing comeback from Pep Guardiola‘s side saw Manchester CityΒ beat Liverpool very comfortably by four goals to one as they looked to continue mounting pressure on their title rivals Arsenal.

The goals came from Julian Alvarez, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish after Mo Salah had initially opened the scoring for Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola started with a front three of Grealish, Alvarez and Riyad Mahrez due to the fact that Phil Foden and Erling Haaland were both ruled out of the game.

The front three tore Liverpool to shreds and even though Mahrez did not get on the scoresheet he played magnificently well breaking a Premier League record in the process.
