In order to fund Manuel Ugarte’s mooted arrival at Manchester United, INEOS may have to sanction the outgoings of two key first-teamers.

After Fabrizio Romano revealed last night that personal terms had been agreed for the Paris Saint-Germain ace, he followed up by adding that Casemiro and Scott McTominay could both be sold to make room for any midfield arrivals.

The Scotsman is certainly attracting the most interest of the two thus far, with reports already claiming United have rejected early bids for McTominay, with one coming from fellow English outfit Fulham. However, their proposal was below the £30 million West Ham offered this time last year.

McTominay is in demand this summer

United dismissed the Irons’ offer last summer as they valued their homegrown talent closer to £45m. Now that he’s on the back of a career-best goalscoring campaign, netting 10 times in all competitions, you’d expect that they’ll have increased their demands somewhat – although interested clubs will be aware that McTominay is now in the final 12 months of his contract.

As such, Galatasaray reportedly view the 27-year-old as their ‘preferred solution’ to current midfield woes, as per Florian Plettenberg. The Turkish outlet believe he would be open to the transfer, and there are ‘serious chances’ it gets over the line. Both clubs remain locked in talks to find a solution.
