Sofyan Amrabat believes Manchester United can turn season around
Sofyan Amrabat has addressed Manchester Unitedβs slow start to the season in a recent interview.
Manchester United have lost six of their first 11 games this season, but the Reds managed to beat Brentford 2-1 in their recent outing.
We got to see Amrabat start a game in midfield rather than being shoehorned into the team at left-back. The Moroccan will hope for more opportunities to prove himself in his preferred position.
Amrabat has acknowledged that United have struggled so far this season, but he believes hard work will be the key to an improvement in our form after the international break.
βI think I can say a lot of things, but I donβt want to use them as an excuse,β Sofyan told Premier League Productions, as per ManUtd.com, when asked about Unitedβs slow start to the 2023/24 campaign.
βI think in life, but also in football, it never goes always only good, or top. You always have a moment that maybe it will be a little bit difficult, and now I think itβs a bit like that at the moment.
βBut we just started. We still have a very long season, a long way [to go]. I think we have played good games [and had] a lot of positive and good things.
βMaybe with a bit more luck, weβd have won the games that we didnβt win. So I have a lot of confidence and I think yeah, we work very hard every day.
βNobody will give it to you. You have to work for it. But we work very hard and I believe it will be fine. It will be good.β
Amrabat will be in action on Saturday night when Morocco take on Ivory Coast in a friendly.
The United loanee also spoke about his time under Erik ten Hag at Utrecht in the Netherlands.
βWe train a lot, with what the manager asks of us and the way he wants to play,β Amrabat added.
βWe put a lot of time and energy into that and, like I said, there are a lot of good things. Of course, we are not perfect yet, but I think nobodyβs perfect. It needs time.
βBut I think also itβs the results. If the results come, it will be only faster that the confidence will grow. Thatβs football, itβs like that.β
