Transfer talks over Diogo Costa likely to accelerate after internationals
The Portuguese press are adamant that Manchester United are the main contenders for the signing of FC Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo dig into the details behind the potential transfer, and note how Porto are in need of making a big sale before the end of the month.
The same report outlines how David de Gea still hasnβt signed a new contract, and with Erik ten Hag wanting a more progressing keeper between the sticks, Costa seems the ideal replacement.
However, United donβt want to pay the β¬75m release clause to sign Costa.
It is also stated that the process for Costaβs sale βshould accelerateβ after the upcoming period of internationals.
Costa would be a significant upgrade on De Gea and heβs young enough to be around for a long time.
Maybe Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot can have words before they go on holiday.
