Victor Lindelof verdict on Richard Arnold’s departure

Victor Lindelof believes Richard Arnold represented Manchester United well during his 16 years at the club, including his time as chief executive officer, despite fans feeling completely different about his stint at Old Trafford.

The centre-back went as far to say he is “sad” that the 52-year-old is to leave United by the end of the year, but states he has done “very well” for the club. That would beg the question why Sir Jim Ratcliffe is adamant about getting rid of the Glazer scrooge.

And, once Ratcliffe’s minority bid is ratified, we can expect more changes which will hopefully result in better results for the 20-time champions of England.

The British billionaire has been long tipped to conduct an audit at boardroom level.

John Murtough is also thought to have an uncertain future as football director.

Lindelof has been at United since 2017 and has earned a bigger contract here than he would elsewhere. We can only presume that is why he is so complimentary of Arnold’s work.

Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, Lindelof said: “I just received an SMS about it. He [Arnold] is a person I like very much.

“I think he did very well and represented the club in a nice way. It is sad that he has to leave. (I will) call or text him later to thank him in person.”

As far as we’re concerned, Arnold will be no loss. Lindelof will be lucky if he doesn’t follow Arnold out of the club in the summer.
