Wout Weghorst claims heβs an asset to Manchester United
Reports suggest Manchester United wonβt try to keep Wout Weghorst beyond this season, although the Netherlands striker remains hopeful of staying at Old Trafford.
Weghorst has only managed to score two goals since arriving at Manchester United on loan from Burnley in January.
The 30-year-old has yet to score in the Premier League for the Reds.
Burnley are expecting Weghorst to return in the summer, however, nobody knows for how long.
The man himself insists that a concrete decision about his future was yet to be communicated to him.
Theyβve taken Β£1bn out of the club and weβre signing Burnley players on loan cos they wonβt put up the money to sign the world class players we need. Itβs a disgrace.

It would appear heβs been left out in the dark.
Speaking at the London Stadium on Sunday, Weghorst told The Times that United were very satisfied with him.
βIn those [talks] the club said they are very satisfied with me. It has absolutely not been communicated with me that Man United donβt want me to continue,β Weghorst said.
βThey appreciate my value. They believe I am absolutely an asset for the team. Of course I have heard different things [in the media]. I have to wait and see what happens and focus on our goals in the league and cup competitions.β
The Netherlands international has lost his place in Erik ten Hagβs team in recent weeks, starting just one of the last seven games in the Premier League.
Weghorst adds that he would want assurances over game time, should he agree to stay at United.
βIβm a guy who likes to play football,β he said. βWhen your appearances are reduced, as has been the case lately, you realise what you are missing. If the club wants to keep me, Iβll have to know what role they have in mind for me.β
Itβs pretty telling that Ten Hagβs priority target this summer will be a centre-forward. Weghorst would get less game time if he is to stick around next season.
I canβt see that happening because Weghorst has not done enough to warrant a permanent deal.
